For your average European, the thing you will probably always remember about the US national parks is the vastness, the emptiness, the absence of noise, of elbow-rubbing, and sometimes, of anything leaving and breathing really. Because in this absence, as if you were an actual product of the Earth, which nowadays rarely seems so, you will instantly feel like you belong.

You will hear your heart racing during a climb and the sound of feathers fluttering while birds glide trough the sky.

You will feel the sun burning the back of your neck.

You will run, hitting the waves, screaming.

You will laugh. Forget your phones. Forget to take pictures.

And then, you'll just be you.
